Webinar: Replacing the Resource Management Act: Risks and Solutions

This webinar outlined the findings of EDS’s recent report on ‘phase 3’ of the government’s resource management reforms, in which the Resource Management Act 1991 is being replaced by a Planning Act and Natural Environment Act. This system, premised on the enjoyment of property rights, will look quite different from the current one in a number of ways, with Bills due to be introduced to Parliament towards the end of 2025. The webinar explored seven key shifts envisaged by the reforms, including both risks and opportunities for the environment.
