Webinar: Regulatory relief on the ground

One of the most alarming aspects of the Planning Bill and Natural Environment Bill (which will replace the Resource Management Act 1991) is the concept of regulatory relief. This involves councils having to provide ‘relief’ to landowners where certain kinds of rules (including for biodiversity) have a significant impact on the reasonable use of land. This has significant implications for how – and if – councils will be able to protect our natural environment.

Presenter: Dr Greg Severinsen, Reform Director, EDS
